Birthday Ride in Clouds

Welcome! I made this card by creating a background by inking a white CS with Distress Oxide Ink Faded Jeans and embossed this with Darice EF Clouds.  Inked the clouds lightly with Brilliance Moonlight White ink.  The Repeat Impressions sentiment  and hot air balloons stamps were inked with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I colored the Balloons with Copics and fussy cut them and attached with foam tape.  Added some dots of Red Berry Nuvo Crystal.  Finished with mats of Red and Yellow and card base of White.

Challenges:
The House That Stamps Built: Challenge J2617 Anything Goes
CAS-ology:  Cue card Balloon.  Happy 5th Anniversary to CAS-ology!
Addicted to Stamps and More: Challenge 252 Make Your Mark. Used copic markers.

Fun with Tissue Paper Watercoloring

I am always looking for new ideas and techniques. I came across a video the other day and just had tor try Tissue Paper Water Coloring demonstrated by Loll Thompson on this video.  You must go watch her great tutorial.  Warning: This can become addictive.  I just wanted to keep trying as many combos that I could do. It's a fun way to create backgrounds for your projects.
I used 3 Distress Oxide inks and water with a layer of Tissue Paper.  I scrunched the paper up for more texture when I glued to a panel of White CS.  I then inked with Versamark and embossed with Gold EP for some sparkle.  To add more interest to the edge, I created a gold edge by  embossing the edges of another White CS panel with Gold EP which I layered under the tissue paper layer. This was attached to the Blue Card Base.  I die cut Happy Birthday with Cheery Lyn dies and heat embossed 3 times with Gold EP to get the dimension that I wanted.

Challenges:
Simon Monday Challenges: Simon says You've got the edge! The layer of gold embossing makes the top layer really pop.
Less is More: Challenge 338 No Stamps. Very easy card!
Happy Little Stampers: July Mixed Media Challenge-Texture. Used scrunched up tissue paper for texture.
Happy Little Stampers: Anything Goes with Dies. Cheery Lynn dies for words.
Seize the Birthday: Topping option is Splatter. The gold embossing does have a splatter look but the card definitely fits the Anything Goes for Birthday.

Thanks to Loll for her video and inspiration.

Inspired by STV Videos

Welcome! I have 2 cards that were inspired by Stamp TV Videos. The first one uses the Black Embossed Magic Technique seen here.   I used GKD stamps from Pressed Flowers and a sentiment from Buds & Vases.  Other supplies: Pattern Paper from MME - A Mother's Love pad, Black CS, Vesamark,  White EP, Sharpie Pens.  First time to use this technique.

This card was inspired by The Simply Snowy Christmas Card video seen here  at Stamp TV.  Instead of a Christmas card, I created a fall theme card with GKD stamps from Pressed Flowers and Always Autumn.  But I followed the guidelines on the video creating a One Layer card with masking. sponging, stamping, and heat embossing.  Other supplies: White CS, Distress Inks Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade, Versamark, Copper EP, Clear EP.

Hello!  My card was inspired by the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I used stamps and dies from Hero Arts July kit with papers from Graphic 45 Secret Garden pad.  The flowers and butterfly were colored with Copics.  The pitcher was stamped and cut from a scrap saved from a metallic paper box. Other supplies: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Memento Bamboo Leaves Marker, White CS, Ribbon from stash, Swiss Dots and Gingham EF's.  I decided to wait and

add a sentiment when I use the card.

Oxide inks used: Broken China, Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Cracked Pistachio, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber.

Fabulous Flowers

Hello! This will be my third post today. I am having too much fun playing with Oxide inks.  I started this card by sponging a White CS panel with Iced Spruce ink...love this color. (Actually did that a few days ago when I received my very first Oxide ink).  I did a bit of Dry Embossing beneath the sentiment that I stamped with Worn Lipstick and embossed with Clear EP. I layer stamped 3 flowers using Technique Tuesday Two Stampin' set with Oxide Fire Brick and Worn Lipstick inks.  I used a water brush to fill in the color. The leaves were stamped with Peeled Paint (DOI)  and Forest Moss(DI).  I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and attached to the background with foam tape.  I picked up the pink color in the flowers for the card base to finish.  I consider this a CAS card since the only thing that took time was the fussy cuts.  All stamps are from the same set.

Challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge: Layered Florals-I used layered stamping as well as layered my cut flowers.

Serving Watermelon

Welcome to my blog!  The inspiration for this card came from photo and sketch challenges shown below.  I made the background layer with White CS and Distress Oxide Inks.  I attached strips of paper from my scraps and stamped the sentiment from Repeat Impressions.  I stamped the RI Watermelon stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Distress and Distress Oxide Inks.  Added glossy accents to the seeds.  Fussy cut the melon and popped up on the card with foam.  Just for fun I was going to add some ants but my DH said that ants might make people shudder so I used a friendly ladybug stamp instead.  Used a Black card base to finish.  Colors of Oxide Ink used: Peeled Paint, Fire Brick, Cracked Pistachio, Forest Moss.  I am having so much fun coloring and playing with the Oxide inks....a nice change from Copic markers.

Challenge:
Just Us Girls: Photo Week #403. Fun photo inspired the theme and colors in my card.
Tuesday Morning Sketches: Sketch #412. Theme Embellishments.   I used Glossy Accents to embellish the seeds of the watermelon and the lady bugs.

Summer Time Fun

Hello!  I was inspired by the Inspiration Palette Challenge J1917 shown below from The House That Stamps Built in making this card.  I created my background with Broken China Distress ink on a panel of watercolor paper.  I stamped Repeat Impressions stamp Kayaker on clear velum with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear EP.  I colored the image with Copics using colors from the inspiration photo and then trimmed it.  I attached this to the background with Stick It Adhesive.  Love how the Kayaker merges into the "water".  Finished with a Repeat Impressions sentiment stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink and a Kraft card base. I think I captured all the colors in the inspiration.

Over The Rainbow Happy

Today I have 2 cards which are very similar but different.  I used the same Repeat Impressions stamps (had since Jan 2016) and the same Distress Ink colors on both but used Neenah  CS on the top card and watercolor paper on the bottom one for the panels.  I also used different layouts and base cards.  I used an acrylic block to smear the colors, sprayed with water and laid the papers on the block to blend the colors.  I think I used Distress Inks Barn Door, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Peeled Paint, Tumbled Glass, and Wilted Violet.  The words were stamped with Versafine Black Onyx.

It's the Sentiment That Counts

This card is for the Mod Squad Challenge - Make sentiment the main focal point.  I have several great sentiments from the sponsor Power Poppy.  It was just a matter of choosing one for my card.  I decided on this one from her Berry It Digi stamps.  I printed it, framed it with a green mat and used a "berry" red card base.  Actually the sentiment is beneath a die cut in the front of the base card.   I printed the Berry Image much smaller than the actual size, colored it with Copics, and fussy cut it.  Attached it with foam tape.  Embossed a row of dots on the lower edge of the card.  Might use this for a birthday if I added a birthday greeting inside. You think??

Fun with Oxide Ink

Hello! I have been playing again with Oxide Ink Iced Spruce to create a couple of One Layer cards using Colored CS.   The top card is GKD Chocolate Brown CS stamped with Power Poppy image from Sassy Succulents and sentiment from PP Lavender set.  Love the way the oxide ink pops on the dark CS.  Filled in the succulent with pencils in two shades of green. Added a touch of shine to 2 of the words with Stardust pen.
This second card is Black CS stamped with Hero Arts Leafy Vine cling stamp...love the velvety look of the oxide ink.  Finished with a Power Poppy Sentiment from Sassy Succulents in the same ink.
